One of the responsibilities of parents is to keep their children well-groomed and clean.

Although we have various styles and ways to do this, everything is all about making sure the kids are free from dirt and will constantly look their best.

A Texas mom is now facing internet backlash and some shaming because of her decision to share one of the ways she grooms her 3-year-old daughter.

Leah Garcia, 31 years old, uploaded on TikTok a video of her as she was waxing her toddler’s unibrow.

It was captioned with “Idc! Idc! I’d rather y’all call me a bad mom before I let my 3-year-old walk around with a unibrow as my parents did!”

Her video instantly became viral and has already more than 39.5K comments and beyond 3.8 million views on the video-sharing platform.

Her clip sparked debates and she even received private messages about her parenting style.

Leah shared in an interview with Good Morning America that her intentions were all good.

She received messages of support online and comments that agreed with her decision to remove the unibrow.

However, there were also various negative comments that questioned her parenting style.

One comment even went:

“I hope when she’s older she realizes her insecurities were imposed on her by the person who was supposed to make her feel the most beautiful in this world poor baby,” they wrote in a TikTok stitch post.

Leah shared screenshots of the private messages that included threats of reporting her to child protective services.

Social media users shamed the mom and were accusing her of poor parenting skills.

The reason she decided to wax out the unibrow was that she wished someone did that for her when she was younger.

She used to be bullied because of it, and seeing that her daughter also has it, she wanted to save her daughter from the potential bullying she might experience for having a unibrow.

Her video was meant to let other parents know with the same situation that they are not alone.

Her post was meant to be light-hearted.

“I was posting it to relate to moms who do do that, because I knew that I wasn’t alone. And also let the moms who don’t do it but who do have a hairy child who struggle with this, know that it’s OK,” Leah said.

The Texas mom shared that she has been waxing her daughter’s unibrow for about a year when she uploaded the clip.

Her other daughter and stepson also underwent unibrow waxing and when her toddler saw this, the little girl asked Leah to do this to her as well.

“It wasn’t like, ‘Mom, I have a unibrow and I’m so insecure, please wax my eyebrow.’ … but she did ask me and I knew at one point or another, I was going to end up waxing her at a young age so it might as well be at a time where she was open and wanting it, so I just took the opportunity for what it was,” Leah said.

Leah thinks that those who gave her backlash must have not experienced being bullied because of a unibrow.

She had it first hand and because of this, she knew what she was talking about and her decision was for the welfare of her kids.

The comments and feedback from various people online are quite mixed on this one. How about you? What do you think?
